This is a classic landrace strain from Thailand, whose descendants include Haze, Chemdawg, and AK-47. Rare to find in its original form, Thai delivers a strong cerebral buzz that’s like a good shot of caffeine.

Thai, or Thai Sticks, came to North America in the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s, where they were crossed with other cannabis strains to create some well-known staples, including Blueberry and Chocolope.

While Thai may not exist in its original form today, modern strains called Thai boast a citrus, earthy aroma, and THC content in the 14-to-24% range. The strong Sativa high that it imparts can be too much for some. Veteran users, however, often relish the pronounced cerebral effects.

Thai tends to offer more mental effects than physical ones, so it's not a great fit for medical cannabis users looking to alleviate pain. But it may be a good choice for those with ADD, ADHD, or chronic fatigue syndrome.
